You know when you run an outdoor site and you start making friends with outdoor people that you have nothing in common with except maybe cupcakes? Well when I first started a friendship with Terri Lee Pocernich of Camp Wild Girls I have to say her little outdoor camp isn’t what I thought it was.
Terri Lee’s site is a website dedicated to hunting and fishing resources for women. It’s not about bow chicka bow bow girls at camp. I say this because in real life I only hang out with that one outdoor guy. My husband. So when it comes to the outdoor way of thinking, I think like a guy. And if he told me he was going to watch Camp Wild Girls on TV, I’d say, “Oh no you’re not. We don’t have those channels.”
And then I’d have to eat a cupcake.
And then I’d hide the remote.
This really is all in good fun. Terri Lee and I have formed a friendship and we’ve even talked on the phone. And if I ever attended Team Huntress and Terri Lee was my instructor, let’s just say I don’t need that camp wild outdoor’s chick kicking my cupcakes at camp.
I’d break a nail.
And I don’t need her showing me how to find my way out of the woods for some survival test.
She’d lose me on purpose.
And then I’d walk into a spark-a-lie spider web like this …

Oh deer god, I’d have an attack.
And Dave of Pheasant Phun wouldn’t be using that van of his for joy riding.

It’s main purpose would be The Hunter’s Wife ER transportation…
On a daily basis.
“Where’s Dave now?”
“The Sissy Hunter’s Wife sat on a sticker and they’re at the ER. AGAIN.”
“Terri Lee, what did you do to her now? Hahaha”

On a serious note: I like to say congratulations to Terri Lee Pocernich and her son Kale Williamson. They have teamed up as team HuntingLife, sponsored by HuntingLife.com for the Battle of the B.O.W. from Wisconsin Outdoors Network and will also be featured in January, 2010 on the Sportsman Channel.

Jody.. I so hope you do make it to Team Huntress.. and you will be just fine.. We will try to clear all the spider webs and sticker out before you get there.. and I am sure Dave will take you for a ride in the Paddy wagon.. ummm I mean camo truck..
I also congratulate Terri Lee for being such a wonderful mentor for young women in the outdoors.. Great to see a fellow woman.. mother in the outdoors with her grown children..
Not all always seems like it appears. I have been surprised more times than I care to admit.
Stacey, Is the paddy wagon padded? Maybe I better not go any where with Dave. Don’t want to end up eating checkers somewhere.
Rick, Terri Lee has a great site and as Stacey said, you can tell she is all good things outdoors.
I had a co-worker who saw I was a facebook fan of CampWildGirls and thought i might be some kid of pervert because she thought is was some girl scout thing…until she actually looked at their fb site…rock on Jody!
You are so funny! I love this post. I have to tell people to check their spam for emails from me! It’s all in fun, and we are some kick ass huntresses. Jody you would fit right in, it’s all about having fun! Thanks again!
Tom, yea umm…I’m thinking maybe it’s not just because of CampWildGirls. lol
Terri Lee, I was a little nervous about you kicking my cupcakes. Glad you enjoyed!
I think I’m going to start a Blog and call it the Huntresses Husband. You ladies rock!
My wife bacame a hunter about a year ago…Only been hunting twice and has taken a black bear and a 300 lb. wild boar…she still teases me that her pig is far bigger than anything I’ve ever taken.
Mark
the spiderwebs are the worst…. ick! ick! ick!
Seriously though – CampWildGirls is such an awesome thing!
Aw come on, HW, you know we Team Huntress gals prefer chocolate pudding to mud for wrestling!
Spider webs freak me out!
Ok, I’m new here, but can I just say, I already feel right at home. Loved your humor, now I’m off to ask my Hunter what his first thoughts of “Camp Wild Girls” would be~
