Chris Brogan Outdoors

by Jody Narantic on September 22, 2009

Chris BroganThis is not an announcement for another outdoor site but I am announcing that Chris Brogan will be guest blogging here tomorrow about his attempt at bow hunting a few years ago. Although Chris Brogan Outdoors does have a nice ring to it I think he’s more of an indoors kind of guy.  Kind of like me.  Except I’m a girl.

I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am about this.  I’ve been following Chris Brogan’s blog for a long time and I’ve also been a long time follower of his on Twitter.  What is interesting about this situation is that I’ve never attempted any contact with Chris until a couple of weeks ago.

Before I tell you what evolved, let me share this from Chris’s about page:

Chris Brogan is the President of New Marketing Labs, a new media marketing agency, and home of the Inbound Marketing Summit conferences and Inbound Marketing Bootcamp educational events. He works with large and mid-sized companies to improve online business communications like marketing and PR through the use of social software, community platforms, and other emerging web and mobile technologies.

Chris has over 31,000 subscribers to his blog.  He also has a very large following on Twitter with over 99,000 followers.  He has  shaved his head for charity and just recently reached the New York Times Bestseller from his book Trust Agents, with co-author Julien Smith.  This should tell you what kind of  influence he has in social media.

This should also tell you why I was about to have an attack…the kind of attack I’d have if I ever had to go in the woods…

Chris was  helping a friend, Mitch Joel, with his new book launch, Six Pixels of Separation:  Everyone is Connected. Connect Your Business to Everyone. Chris  offered to do a guest blog post for the first 10 people that purchased so many copies of the book.  I jokingly mentioned on Twitter to Sherry of Outdoor Media Resources what Chris Brogan could possibly share on my blog?

Then Chris @ ‘ed me saying he could share his failed attempt at bowhunting.

Oh for the love of a secret groupie, Chris @ ‘ed me.

C h r i s  B r o g a n @ ‘ed me.

And I’ll scream it now…CHRIS BROGAN @ ‘ED ME!

For the love of someone that caves from peer deer pressure, I bought the books.

And Chris Brogan will share his outdoor bowhunting story tomorrow … and Thursday I’ll be giving away one of Mitch’s books.

Have a good day all…I wonder if the next time he is in the Chicago area he’ll invite me to lunch? And wear camouflage?

Jody, very exciting! As a fellow Chris Brogan groupie and an instigator of the behavior that made you the proud owner of more copies of Mitch’s book than you need, I can’t wait to read Chris’s post here.

I don’t know about the camo, but if there’s a tweet up in Chicago, I guarantee Chris is everything he is on his blog and more. He’s a great friend of mine, and I have never heard the bow hunting story, so I am eager to read it here tomorrow!

Sounds like an interesting bowhunting blog post from this young professional coming up on Thursday. I’ll be back to see what he will be sharing. ;)

Hey! I already bought the book (from Jody — who says she has four, or so, copies left) and am halfway thru it and it rocks! Great advice and easily digested.
