Yesterday, someone (she reads my blog) was making fun of me for not being a girly girl that takes her own fish off the hook.
Dear chick that takes her own fish off the hook,
Before you get your fish off your hook … I’ll break your pole.
Love,
The hair puller.
It’s a full moon tonight. Be safe all!
I love my readers.
Flying off on my broom for the night!

Well. I don’t care who pulls the fish off the hook. It probably needs to be someone else, because after rigging, tying Yucatan, Uni, and Blood Knots, scrubbing the damn boat and cleaning and cooking the fish, and then the kitchen after a 40 hour plus workweek, my ass is tired. Let them eat cake, ’cause I’ll tell you something, at least you’re getting out there and DOING something, and if you ain’t, they sure as Hell won’t be eating fish! Git down with yo’ badself Jody, trade the broomstick in for a newer model. You’re going places, girl!
I can’t stop laughing. You are too much!
I’ll take your fish off the hook, let’s go fishing!
I get comments like that about fishing and hunting all the time too Jody. Take it all in stride doll and don’t ruin that manicure!
I bet I know the chick you are referring too
Listen here missy – don’t you dare ruin that manicure! I’d be more than happy to take your fish off he hook , just to have an opportunity to fish with you and laugh with you. Besides, I need someone presentable to send into the Dairy Queen on the way home! You just come fish with me.. I’ll take the fish off..you go into the Dairy queen.. seems like a fair trade to me!
Hey Jody…if you don’t have someone criticizing you, you aint doin it right…Let em have it and don’t forget to pick the bugs out of your teeth after smiling all the way across the lake on your boat ride!
Mark
Jody, apparently your critic didn’t know you ride your broom with a posse. Saddle up those brooms, gals, let’s ride …
Seriously, as long as I’ve been in the outdoor business, I’ve preached to women that they can be whoever and whatever they are and still enjoy the outdoors. We don’t all have to do it the same way, and we don’t have to change who we are. The minute women start feeling like they have to fit a mold and follow “rules,” we’ve lost them. It may as well be 1980 again. Don’t get me started…
Ride on strong Jody, I’d also be tickled pink to de hook your fish! I think Mark at Sustainable Wood is right as far as criticism goes. Why my post the other week about Blackberries offended what I thought was a friend. Oh and such a benign post. You do it your way and have the best time ever, to heck with the others!.
Cheers to you!
Actually, I try not to take the fish off my own hook either. It seems there are always others around who are more than happy to do it for me. So I just hand them the slimy thing and say “here you go!”
However, I will shoot and clean my own pheasants. Odd, huh?
At least you eat the fish you are catching Jody.. More than I can say for your “critic”

I am with Sherry on this one.. don’t get me started
(typing and deleting..typing and deleting..lol)
Before I would like to find a prince that would take me fishing and take my fish off the hook for me. My spouse say you don’t remove your own I not taking you. He told me that taking my fish off cuts into his fishing time.
