Enjoying The Outdoors Can Be Painful

by Jody Narantic on June 22, 2009

Location: Hawaii

“Mark (my husband), you’re ganna’ get burnt.” Hiding in my bikini in the blue cabana sipping on my fruity hawaiian drink.

“Can’t go home from Hawaii without a nice golden tan.” As he continues splashing on the oil. Banana boat oil. Little more oil. Lemon in the hair and more oil.

“Stop oiling up yourself, you’re burnt.”

“I’ve got a nice golden tan going on.”

“Hon, you passed golden hours ago. You’re burnt.”

Mark is hot

We go through this every summer. Yesterday was no different.

Mark is too hot

The end result – aloe vera treatments and a glow in the dark t-shirt. I’ll admit, he looks good with a tan. But we’ve passed that stage. We’re at the stage of “Ouch. Don’t touch me.”

Have a good day all and do your spouse a favor, put your sunscreen on.

I feel his pain, I have been there and ultimately refused to go back. It hurt to much.

Oh that has to hurt! That happened to me when I was very young while vacationing with my family. Lots of aloe and keep hydrated.

wow – that has to hurt – i feel for him – happened to me many times living in FL – but now i am too fat to try to tan so no more worries :-)

Oh MY! That sunburn has to hurt…I hope the aloe vera takes the ooouch out of moving and his recovery is swift. ;)

Hahaha! Okay, sorry to laugh at his expense. But you did warn him! My husband will get burnt each spring also.. out riding the motorcycle. Except, he ends up with the nice raccoon eyes from his sunglasses. I now make sure that he carries sunscreen in his saddle bags.

I found your blog from OBS and have enjoyed reading your posts. I hope it is okay that I’ve added you to my blogroll. ;)
