Friday’s Goofy Googler = The peeker (lurker) and their keyword searches that led them to The Hunter’s Wife site.
I understand what some peekers do behind closed doors is their own personal business. I am all for privacy. However, I am deeply concerned about some of the keyword searches that were used to find my site.
This is to the Peeker searching for “Married Squirrels”:
Am I missing something in the wild outdoors? I know there are many things about hunting I just don’t understand but do squirrels marry? Can someone explain this to me please? Maybe it is a hunting term meaning 2 squirrels nibbling on a nut together?
My inquiring mind needed to know so I did the search for married squirrels. I still couldn’t find anything from there other then my site is on page 1 for the The Frying of Foxy.
Then I thought maybe just maybe someone has a picture of married squirrels. And here it is. The shotgun wedding of stuffed squirrels.

Attention Hunters: If you are looking to have your squirrels stuffed, here is an example of what you can do with them. Maybe this peeker was onto something. I think I might just make my hunter re-create my wedding with a couple of squirrels.

Hmmm – if we recreated our wedding we’d have to have squirrel-sized Groucho Marx glasses and toilet paper – I think I’ll stick with the pictures, they are memorable enough (our photographer said that he had never laughed so hard at a wedding as he did at ours, I married into a family of pranksters and have some awesome pictures and memories!)
That is just plain stupid. They looked a lot better when they were alive you idiot. Can’t you think of something better to do with your life than kill things?
Doug,
This is my site and you have the choice to read it or not. You don’t like it, don’t read it. If you would like to make a point about your disagreement of hunting that is fine. But please remember, to get respect you need to give respect.
As for the killing of animals, hunting is very legal and that sometimes is the only resource some have to feed their families.
Jody,
Good answer. Respectful statements of opinions and respectful disagreement should be encouraged and can generate some great discussion. Being rude just for the sake of being rude is just poor behavior.
As to the stuffed squirrel wedding, in my opinion someone had a bit too much time on their hands. You do have to wonder who was Googling married squirrels in the first place though.
I just had to call my wife in to see this shot… That is funny! And I too have found a few strange google searches that led to my site. It is amazing what keywords will accidentally send people to you.
And way to respond to Doug. I think it is him that has too much time on his hands. Why bother reading something that you don’t like?
Ever so often I check the keywords that lead visitors to my blog and sometimes it is shocking, just recently a visitor found my blog with the keyword “bondage”.
I like the picture of the squirrels. This is the work of a female taxidermist. She specialized in creating everyday life scenes with stuffed squirrels. Unfortunately I did not bookmark the website.
The comment of Doug is typical of most animal rights activists. Animal rights think that they have the right to be rude to everybody that does not share their point of view. I admire how you replied. As for me I just hit the delete button on comments like this.

Thanks for all of your comments. This is actually one of my first anti-hunting comments.
Othmar, this post was meant to be humorous. And after reading that comment I felt my point came across as finding humor in the killing of an animal. Which was not the case. I am so glad you knew the picture. I was thinking it had to be the work of a very creative person.
I think, just because you made light of a subject does not mean you came across as finding humour in the killing of an animal.
I do not know a lot about taxidermy but I do know that is considered by many to be an art form. Art imitates both life and nature, and there is nothing wrong with finding humour in either. I am sure the taxiderist who created this scene had a good chuckle while she was doing so.
don’t worry Jody…. Doug just needs to get a real life…. the rest of us see plenty of good natured humour in your blogging…
and, if I may be so bold?… where does a person find out who “Googled” what to find our blogs? is there a specific page or do you need to sign up for yet something else, or what?
Michelle, I would agree that it is definitely an art form.
Vee, I use Google Analytics. You can sign up for free and it will track your site and give you a reporting of a variety of information about your site visitors. Let me know if you have any questions and I will do what I can to help.
Jody, I’m thinking if someone can’t find humor in that picture, they can’t find it anywhere…what a miserable existence!
It is hilarious to see how some people find my site, but I must admit, I never thought about doing a post on it! I may have to keep track of that for future reference…
One more thought…I wonder what a person coming to a site entitled “The Hunter’s Wife” was expecting to find?
Maybe I should spend one day trolling the “anti-hunting” sites leaving completely random, disconnected, irrational, and uninformed comments….
Never mind…I have better things to do
Jody,
I have to agree with the other comments. I did not feel your humor was toward the killing of animals. Most antis have nothing better to do and are seriously misguided individuals. My husband has made a few hunting videos and suprisingly we have only had one negative letter in the past 7 years. Don’t let his comment make you second guess yourself and never apologize for doing something that is very legal and apart of our heritage. Like you said if they don’t like it, they don’t have to look.
Keep it up,
Lana
That doug just had to come in and kill the mood. I was all ready to leave a post wondering how the squirrels would look in kilts and where I could find a set of miniature bagpipes (ala my own wedding), when I read his rude drivel.
Jody, you handled him nicely.
And please don’t second-guess yourself. It was obvious in your post that your tongue was planted firmly in your cheek.
Thanks everyone! Hopefully I won’t have too many of those sort of posts. I could have deleted, but seeing it was my first anti-hunting comment I wanted to hear all of your opinions.
I wonder if Doug has ever spent a single penny that went to the preservation of wildlife or wildlife habitat. Money that legal law abiding hunters spend on hunting license and equipment, etc. etc. goes to help preserve wildlife and wildlife habitat. Just a few weeks ago here in Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue announced the acquisition on over 20,000 acres that will be preserved from future development and will be prime habitat for all types of wildlife, and the wildlife will be managed to ensure it stays healthy and thrives. The money to preserve this land came from avid hunters and outdoors-man, who care about wildlife and the habitat that they live in. It’s not about the kill at all. I went deer hunting this year and could have shot at least 25 deer. But I didn’t shoot once. I just enjoyed being out there and seeing the animals and land that my money helped protect.
Oh, Doug probably found you when he did a Google search for “married squirrels”. He obviously wasn’t looking for this picture, so I wonder what he WAS looking for?
Love the picture!
Damn! I still can’t get any hate comments
