Mrs. Kravitz and Desperate Housewives

by Jody Narantic on August 27, 2009

Mrs. KravitzIf you don’t remember Mrs. Kravitz from Bewitched you are either too young or you’re at the age of forgetting things. With hot flashes. And chocolate cravings. And love your afternoon nap time.

In case you don’t remember,  Mrs. Kravitz was the nosy neighbor that lived across the street from Samantha and Darrin Stephens.

And when I look across the street and sneak up to my neighbors house and take a picture…

Our Mrs. Kravitz is a little more inconspicuous about her peeking.  Her curtains are only slightly slanted. But I know she’s behind them.

If something strange is happening in the neighborhood, you can bet Mrs. Kravitz knows.  If she doesn’t know, she’ll call Desperate Housewife #1, my husband.  Because if Mrs. Kravitz doesn’t know what’s happening, my husband does.  If they can’t figure it out, they send Desperate Housewife #3, Mrs. Kravitz’s daughter, to investigate.

Because she has a peeking problem of her own.

If you notice, her curtain is pulled back a little more than her Mothers.  Give her a few more years and she’ll be just as good at it.

All I can say is I’m glad I’m not single living in their neighborhood.

DH1:  Did you see that car in her drive all night?

DH2:  Did she color her hair again? It was brown yesterday.

DH3: Did you see those 10″ spiked heels she was wearing? She’ll trip over the walkway.

DH1:  Pizza delivery guys there again.

DH2:  Did she color her hair again? It was blond yesterday.

DH3: She didn’t get home til 3:00 a.m. last night.

I’d be the cul-de-sac floozy.

Thankfully I’m married to one of them.  Not only do they make me feel safe but Mrs. Kravitz and daughter love to cook.  Cookies, cake, brownies and just the other day they brought me the most delicious Mexican rice.

Thank you my little neighborhood crime peekers.

Have a wonderful day all…and word of advice to those single lady homeowners…have your friend park down the street and sneak up the back, Mrs. Kravitz and peeker partners will never know.

;)

That is funny! She sounds like a good neighbor to have.

I don’t have neighbors that do this, but my family sure does when we are camping. They pay more attention to the people around us then they do to themselves. It cracks me up. I guess I just don’t care that much:)

My mother kind of reminds me of Mrs. Kravitz. I better drop this comment right here before she reads what I posted. Have a good day, Jody!

Sounds like the ladies at my Mother’s apartment complex. Always a few that need to know so they can help…;)

Years ago, I had that kind of neighbor, a kindly old man who was always watching out for us. Every time we had visitors, he called the police. Again and again, our family (including my parents) and friends were questioned by police for daring to park their cars in my driveway and walk toward our door. Finally, I convinced him that we were safe and that he shouldn’t call the police again. Then — you guessed it — I really had a peeping-tom and break-in, and Mr. Kravitz ignored it.

I have a neighbor like that… except that he’s always drunk while he’s peeping and some of the stories he comes up with are a little hard to believe…
