Outdoor Sports Show Girls

by Jody Narantic on January 25, 2010

One of the things I love about our local outdoor sports show is seeing big manly camouflage wearin’ outdoor guys bring their daughters.  It’s the perfect place to get younger girls involved in outdoor sports like hunting and fishing.  Most of the time the show is filled with men.  And boys.  But would you have a look at these three cutie pies.  These three girls were there with their Dads.

And I met them in one of my favorite spots … the lunch area.  And we sat together.

So I did a quick interview with the girls:

Me the wanna be outdoor girl:  How is the food?

Outdoor sports girls:  Good.

Me: How is the chocolate?  ‘Cause I see that bag of chocolate over there.

Outdoor sports girls:  Good.

Yes I’m concerned with food first at outdoor sports shows.

But since we’re at a sports show I better ask outdoor questions.

Me:  Do you girls fish?

Outdoor sports girls:  Yes.

Me:  You do?

And they told me all about their fishing.  From what information I could get out of them, I’m surprised we’re not seeing them on an outdoor sport’s channel.  These girls love fishing.

So I had to ask…

Me-the girl afraid of the woods:  Do you girls hunt?

Girl in the middle:  I just got a bb gun for Christmas.

Me:  You did?  Don’t tell me it was the pink red ryder bb gun.

Girl in the middle:  It was. My Dad is ganna take me hunting.

Me-the one that will shoot her eye out:  OMG you got the pink red ryder bb gun.  I want one.

And then I realized I was hanging out with the wrong crowd.  I should have been hanging out with these three all along.

Security, that crazy hunter’s wife lady is following us around.

And I bet they probably touch fish and take them off the hook all by themselves.

Darn those girls …

I still need to use a handy wipe.

Have a great day all … maybe one day I’ll get to hang out with the big girls and their tackle boxes.

Thanks girls for the interview. You were the sweetest! Happy fishing! And Hunting!

Stay tuned this week for a wonderful giveaway!!!

Cute! My husband is taking our girls (12 & 8) to our Outdoors Show next weekend. They both fish, camp, hike etc. No hunting for them, although they did get a bb gun for Christmas as well. Not the pink one! They’re both looking forward to going to the show.

The future of outdoor sports is safe in the hands of these three. Can we get these little gals out to the sporting clays range?! Too cute!!!

Good for you girls. Hope the tradition of being outdoors with your family is something you will always carry with you.

And Jody this is why I come back to your blog every day. Love the humor.

It’s good to see the dads taking the girls along to these types of shows. And it’s also good to know that these girls do take their own fish off the hook…….without using a handi-wipe.

They could teach you a thing or two, Jody. :) :):)

Girls enjoy the time you get to spend with your dads outside, besides you may get lucky (haha) enough to be a hunters wife and all that stuff your dad taught you (or tried in some cases) will come in handy so you know what the heck your husband is talking about! You girls rock!

So glad to see the next generation getting involved in the outdoors, and so glad to see that people are realizing that the outdoors is for little girls and little boys. Too cool.

Girls keep fishing and hunting and learning to shoot. Boys will really appreciate that someday. Trust me on this.

Glad to see they had chocolate :)

I want a BB Gun too… I have a rifle and a shotgun (or two) but still no BB gun!

Jody, it is great to see The Hunters Wife making connections at you local outdoors show.

We know the dads of the young fisher and hunter ladies will help them to become wise in the ways of the outdoors. Keep it up girls! ;)
