How I Might Ruin The Hunter’s Wife Reputation

March 11, 2010

I have a reputation to uphold around here – I don’t go in the woods,  I don’t pack heat and I don’t know the proper way to hold a bow.  This one time at Cabelas, out of boredom, I picked up a bow like I was some hot outdoor chick scanning the woods to smack [...]

MyNature – Is your digital guide to animal tracks and wildlife in the palm of your hand for iphone or ipod 3.0 or higher.

I loved to [...]

Outback Tiki Bar

February 24, 2010

While fishing around the internet I came across the blog Fishing With Dad.  I loved one of his recent post about his memories of fishing with his Dad and then I came across a picture of a Tiki Bar.  So I emailed Dennis and asked if I could share the story of his Tiki Bar.
Outback [...]

Friends That Sprinkle Friends In Doe Tinkle

January 28, 2010

Nancy Jo Adams – Shenanigans from the Field
I know our paths will cross sometime in the future and we will meet in person…however, I do know it is highly unlikely it will be in THE WOODS! ~

That statement was made to me.  The Hunter’s Wife.  And we all know why.  I don’t go in [...]

Sheriff Jim Wilson and Hide Tails

January 27, 2010

When running an outdoor blog when you’re not necessarily an outdoor person you may not know all the big players in the game.  It’s like walking in a football locker room not knowing who Peyton Manning is.  But I’m learning and with the help of some of my outdoor friends like Sherry Kerr of Outdoor [...]

Outdoor Sports Show Girls

January 25, 2010

One of the things I love about our local outdoor sports show is seeing big manly camouflage wearin’ outdoor guys bring their daughters.  It’s the perfect place to get younger girls involved in outdoor sports like hunting and fishing.  Most of the time the show is filled with men.  And boys.  But would you have [...]

Camouflage – It’s Not Just For Hunting

December 22, 2009

Now that the 2009 Indiana deer hunting is coming to an end, there is no reason to put that camouflage away. In our house, camouflage is worn pretty much daily.
For shoveling:

For fishing:

For napping:

For whacking moles:

And out to dinner:
Oh wait.
Never mind.
I made him go change.
Yes friends, camouflage…It’s not just for hunting.

My Hunting Season Is Over All Because Of A Buck

November 17, 2009

I would never consider myself a bossy hunter’s wife. Or a bossy wife in general. I don’t tell my husband how to do things or what to do. I would never say, “You are not going hunting this weekend” or “You are not allowed to go hunting anymore” or “Please don’t go [...]

What? Huh? Yard Work? Me?

November 16, 2009

It’s fall and with fall comes the falling leaves and a yard full of them.  And I’m not the lawn maintenance worker of the family. I watch from a window. My husband maintains the yard and all there is involved with keeping our grass looking like carpet. Or like a football field. [...]
