The Beauty Of Fishing & Friends

by Jody on October 23, 2008

First, I would like to say thank you all so much for joining my $100 BP gas card giveaway.  I hope you stick around and enjoy the fun here.  You all have been to some amazing places and I’ve enjoyed reading them all so far.  I am also trying to visit each and everyone of your sites, for those of you with a blog.  It really means a lot to me.

Also today is the final day of the contest.  The winner will be announced first thing tomorrow morning.

On to today’s post…

————————————————————————————————————

The beauty of fishing is something I never thought I would ever say.  I’m the girlie girl with the painted fingernails and never thought I would ever enjoy fishing.  Fish are slimey, they can poke you and having to put a worm on a hook wasn’t something I thought I would ever find enjoyment with.

But fishing to me isn’t just about all the screaming girlie fears.  There is something about being on the quiet water at 5:00 a.m. when the sun is rising and the fog is lifting.

This is one of the pictures I took at that time of morning.  I just love it.

It’s about spending time with my hunter.

It’s about meeting new friends on the water.

It’s about fishing with long time friends.

It’s about getting to drive the boat.

And fishing with a bobber that matches my pink fingernail polish.

That is the beauty of fishing to me!

That first picture is awesome. I also love the fact that your bobber matches your fingernail polish. That’s some color coordination right there.

I’ve always loved fishing because it’s so contemplative. There’s nothing quite like being out on a quiet lake with people you enjoy and you’re all sitting in silence just trying to catch a fish.

Wow, great pics. There’s nothing like being out on a cool autumn morning and watching the world come alive as you sit back and take it all in.

But especially it’s about driving the boat, right? Love the scenery picture at the beginning – that’s visually stunning!

Some great pictures there.

I’m telling my wife that you can find bobbers that match your fingernail polish:)

The mist rising off the water in that first shot is gorgeous. Views like that make it worth getting out of bed (on those *rare* times I do get myself going that early).

You look like a natural driving the boat. Your hunter had better be careful. :)

I have never really been a big fisherman but I do love to toss a worm or two for some fresh trout.

Those are some great pictures and meeting and making new friends is what it is all about.

Jody – I think you summed up fishing and what it means to the avid fisher person very well. I am happy that you got a chance to drive the boat. You look good behind the wheel. Love all your pictures. As for me, I believe I will stay with “no” nail polish and a regular bobber.

I had to show my hubby your fingernails matching your bobber….he thinks I am the only one with a fresh pedicure and manicure out there on the lake.

Love the first picture…that’s my favorite time of the morning too. And my husband wouldn’t let me drive the boat. But that’s okay, he only knows one speed….wide open!! I like fishing with the hubby too.
