Yes that’s me. The Serious Hunter’s Wife. I’ve had no time for fun and games. I’ve been preoccupied with other serious personal/professional matters and I’ve neglected my blog. Which I’ve never done. And I’m not going to just blame myself. When my online outdoor friends aren’t online blogging or social networking…it’s hard to make fun of you all.
Like I do with husband.
When he thinks he’s hot stuff in Hawaii flexing his muscles thinking he has some hot tan going on.
And I still haven’t convinced him his @$$ was burnt.

I will say this, I actually haven’t been neglecting my blog. Behind the scenes I’ve been spending time reading up on social networking. A couple of weeks ago I noticed on Twitter the amount of people I follow that only promote themselves. And this applies to a lot of the outdoor companies as well.
Social networking is exactly what it is … social networking and building relationships.
And those are the people I want to get to know. Those are the people I’m interested in reading their blogs. It’s those companies I want to do business with. And those people I like helping promote.
I’d love to see more of our outdoor community on Twitter socializing.

Now that is serious sunburn. Ouch!!
I’ll join in conversation with you any day, Jody:) Nice to see you back. Hope you enjoyed your break. Short and sweet?
See you on twitter or maybe even FB:)
Greg you know you are one of my favorite Twitter friends.
What a nice thing to say. Right back atcha, dear lady:)
Social networking is really interesting – I tried Plurk and liked it for a bit then left it, I’ve been on and off Twitter – I like it, but I can’t keep it up all day so I feel like I’m missing out on most of the conversation and am just picking up bits and pieces. Facebook is my favorite so far – and I’ve neglected that (as well as my blog) for the past week! If only life wasn’t so time consuming…
Me too. With FB and Twitter. I like the conversations between the folks, and the occasional plug. The daily plug gets old. That’s not communicating. I like a sneak peak into the day and the life of my new ‘friends’. What they hunt, what they ate. How burned their husband got in Hawaii. It’s fun. It’s interesting. Who sent you the cupcakes?
Blessed, I think I prefer Twitter over FB for several reasons. Twitter goes at a much faster pace and I like that. Twitter is a bit more professional with others sharing a lot of great information. Not that FB doesn’t but it seems I communicate with friends/family more on FB.
MrsHaffly, I’m fine with the daily plug … but not how some plug. And I really don’t use FB as well as I could. Maybe I need to re-think FB. Only so much time in a day and my choice at the moment is Twitter. @Tonweather on Twitter sent me the cupcakes! Luv her!
I always liked Twitter right out of the box and wild horses couldn’t have dragged my onto Facebook until just recently when I relented. I’m glad that I did because I really do think I can have some fun with it.
As for blogging – I have the most presistent case of writers block in the history of creative writing or journalism. As you said, Blessed, life is so darned time consuming!!
I’m of the same opinion about FB, I use that for close friends and family. Twitter is my choice for social networking, sharing my Sankinator blog and opinions and sometimes every day stuff of the normal person… though saying I’m normal is probably a bit over the top.
Also, I’m certainly not that good at Twitter, but I’ll keep at it as time allows.
As I’ve said before, I really enjoy your humor/blog. Keep up the good work.
I hope the personal/professional matters are starting to come around and work themselves out. It’s not the same when I can’t get my daily dose of funny here.
I just can’t grasp the hole Twitter thing yet. It just doesn’t do much for me. Maybe I’ll have to give it another try.
OooHHHHH! Look at my uncle! Go with your bad self uncle Mark!
I’ve never even used FB because I think it would take up too much of my time. I may have to break down some time & get a FB page. I love Twitter & the fast pase I feel it’s a great way to stop by quickly a few times a day.I always get some good info about the outdoors in each quick stop and I love sharing others info that I find intresting. I think if you help folks out they will help you out in return and Twitter make it so easy. Enough about Twitter how about that Tan!
I am a terrible social networker. I just don’t log in often enough. I drop in once in a while, spend half a day there, then disappear for a week. But I do try to be a good Twitizen and not just be all about me me me me me. Because I’m not that interesting.
Greg, I agree – life is very time consuming and I think you need to pick and choose what works best.
Thank you Chuck. Twitter has been a great tool for me. So many share a lot of informative information. But I also enjoy all the connections I’ve made there.
Arthur, it could do a lot for you. Look at my Twitter stream or my followers and start following those same people. A lot of great oudoor folks. And download Tweetdeck.
Chrissy, hahaha that was such a fun time with your Mom and Dad.
Ben G, You are one of my top Twitter picks. I think you use Twitter well. And the tan, ouch. But he won’t admit it.
NorCal, I’m not that interesting either. lol
Haha – I don’t think I have ever come across anybody who has absolutely nothing of interest to say on either Twitter or Facebook. Although there are some through and through nasty trolls out there, somebody somewhere finds even their comments interesting or amusing, or perhaps just provacatively offensive, but never boring. Seems to me that the type of people who sign up to social media applications in the first place are, for the most part, inherently interesting and pleasant people. Aren’t we just:):)
I’m following you! Anyone else please feel free to follow me and let me know you found me on here. I’ll add you to my outdoors twitter list. I hate it when all people do is promote themselves/their products. Reminds me of linkedin. My outdoor list is here http://twitter.com/justinrains/outdoors you can follow it also if you like. Oh and Mark’s not tan that’s crispy
